Today's Fun Fact Friday is about Asclepias tuberosa, Butterfly Milkweed also called Butterflyweed. We did a Fun Fact on this milkweed a few weeks ago, but this plant has too many fun facts to stop at one.

Did you know that Asclepias tuberosa is the only species of milkweed that does NOT contain a milky sap in the leaves and stems? This is a key characteristic in helping people differentiate Asclepias tuberosa from Asclepias curassavica - Tropical Milkweed.... an invasive milkweed that is causing great harm to monarch populations in America.
