Yesterday's #whatisitwednesday was a well known plant that is commonly referred to as Kale. There are several varieties of Kale and we featured Dinosaur Kale also known as Lacinato Kale or Tuscan Kale. We like to grow Kale basically all year here in Central Florida. It thrives through colder months when most other plants slow down. Luckily, we don't deal with harsh freezes very often. But, Kale does not typically suffer from colder temperatures like other plants do. When we harvest Kale frequently, it is less prone to bolting to seed. In fact, Dinosaur Kale can even grow into a tall perennial leafy green. That is another reason we like growing Kale so much.
