Deer Tongue is a unique hard to find perennial FL native wildflower that can be an awesome addition to a pollinator garden. Stunning small pink blooms begin late summer and end around December. These flowers are important nectar sources for native butterflies. It prefers full sun and consistently moist soils that are well draining. This can be a hard soil type to replicate. We encourage people to find sandy soils in wet areas of their landscape or to plant in containers that allow drainage but are near irrigation.
Winter Dormant
