Galberry is a FL native plant but also native to other areas of the U.S. It is a shrub that can grow up to 12 feet tall. It blooms small white flowers in spring that are followed by dark berries thought to be toxic to humans. We suggest you avoid galberry as a edible plant. Instead, the  berries are a common food source among wildlife like birds and other small critters. Native American used leaves for tea. That is the extent of the edible and medicinal use of the plant.

We plant Galberry because the spring flowers attract a wide variety of flowers to our landscape.
