Muhly Grass is a FL native clumping grass that has grown in popularity. It is often unnoticed until the fall, when it blooms a brilliant pink whispy like flower on the ends of every leaf. Absolute show stopper that brings fall colors while most other plants are fading out.
At maturity, it will grow about 4' tall and 3' wide. It is a long-lived perennial that makes a great border plant, row, or compliment to any wildflower / butterfly garden. As a native clumping grass, it is used as shelter and refuge for many insects and small animals. Consider using it intermixed or nearby your butterfly host plants to protect young caterpillars from predators.
