Creeping sage is an awesome native groundcover or specimen plant. You can even use it as a border if you aren't worried about spread. It is perfect for the shady and somewhat moist areas of the garden that have been troublesome to find a plant that can go there. Not only will it thrive, but it will still attract butterflies and other pollinators to the small blue flowers. It even hosts one of the hairstreak butterflies.

Creeping sage is edible. The leaves have been used in teas and as an culinary spice.

We love to use creeping sage as a groundcover in the shady areas of our food forest. It will help retain moisture to the soil it covers, while also bringingin pollinators.
