Seaside Goldenrod is one of our goldenrod favorites. This Florida native is a leafy perennial but tends to bloom only late in the summer and fall. The numerous yellow blooms fill a garden space and attract tons of pollinators. We love it for its tall growth habit and late season color. Make sure you have some room! The flowers can reach up to 8 feet tall and are often heavy with blooms. Stalks may go every which way looking for something to support the bunches of flowers. 
 
Goldenrop gets a bad rap for causing seasonal allergies. However, ragweed is the common culprit. Because ragweed and goldenrod bloom at the same time, goldenrod got the blame with its showy flowers. Most people are not allergic to goldenrod pollen. 
 
Native to almost the entire east cost of the U.S.
Natural range in FL includes south FL, east and west coastlines and parts of north central FL. 
Grows and blooms well in full sun or part shade.
Likes sandy or well draining soils and can tolerate short droughts.
Can reach 8 ft tall!
Can be grown in zones 8-10.
