This week we asked you to identify a Florida Native Wildflower that is a great plant for anyone looking to attract pollinators and butterflies to their garden. This plant not only is a great food source for pollinators, but is also is a host plant for the Common Buckeye Butterfly.
It is Wild Petunia, also known as Carolina Petunia, or Carolina Wild Petunia. The scientific name is Ruellia caroliniensis

They elected to donate their $10 prize to our weekly non-profit group which is The Florida Wildlife Federation. Each week we donate money to a non-profit organization involved in Florida Conservation based on the number of participants. This week, we are adding our winner's prize on top of what we would normally donate. How cool is that??
